Weddings are a wonderful time. So much of our lives revolve around hatred and war and competition. But a wedding is unique in that it gives everyone a reason to focus on love. Two people pledge to love one another for the rest of their lives, through good times and through bad. It is a beautiful reaffirmation of family and commitment.
My best friend is getting married in two and a half weeks, and it has been so much fun helping her out along the way. Of course, I try to make sure that I have my camera alongside of me to help her commemorate the journey. A couple of months ago another bridesmaid and I went to her mother’s house to get the invitations signed, sealed and delivered. Here are some of the pictures from that day.

I got an interesting message today from an old friend of mine. He said he was interested in getting back into photography, and was thinking of challenging himself with some regular assignments. He wanted to know if I was interested in doing it with him.
For many new photographers this is a great way to force yourself to take photos and evaluate your technique. It’s what photography courses do, and it’s something I used to do. It didn’t take me long to take him up on the offer. And I look forward to seeing what we choose as assignments and in what ways I end up trying to break the mold an habbits I have.
Today turned out to be a rather exciting day.
That’s me on the right with my buddy John. Today we went Macbook shopping and came home with a couple new friends!
I haven’t been a mac user for a couple years now, ever since my old 17″ Powerbook died a slow painful death. I kind of feel like I’m back on the bandwagon after having lived in a world of XP and Vista for over a year. It’s good to have an iLife again 
And she’s done! …Of course I’m talking about the website - DJOphotography.com. She is completely new and all flash-tastic.

Kudos goes entirely to my wife for all the hard work. The launch party will be an intimate gathering of two, later tonight. Perhaps it’ll include a late meal and a bottle of wine.
Given all the hard work Laura has done, I figure it’s only appropriate that the first photo honors (the xBox controller photo in the last post doesn’t count) be of her. Here’s a few photos I took on the weekend down at Point Pleasant.

Laura has been working hard to get the new DJO Photography website up. Who knew that I married such a computer wizard?!
We’ve been having a lot of fun pulling it all together. And when I say “we” I mean me, because Laura’s been working really hard on it while I’ve been polishing up on my Xbox skills.
The new site marks the first real change in our website in 3 years. I’m getting really excited to see it launch. Until then, this fancy new blog is now live!
